Leftob - experimental, electroacoustic, dark ambient...
Hello everyone,
Leftob audio cast is a netradio project of the
Petcord netlabel and offers a platform for experimental sounds not necessarily heard anywhere else. The majority of the music originates from netlabels all around the world and is covered by Creative Commons licences, which makes Leftob some kind of Open Source audio netlabel.
As opposed to common radio stations, we are not interested in monetising our efforts, because we feel it is wrong to gain profits on what has been made available for free. Further, we firmly believe that the focus on music helps ensure that the music maintains a high quality level, since only what the Leftob maintainers like will actually make its way on the radio playlist. In our opinion, the best listening experience is the one that doesn't get interrupted by inappropriate music combinations, jingles, lengthy talks or even advertisements. Therefore, we only serve music 24/7 and the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from listeners confirms to us, that our approach is a welcome one.
The
Leftob radio site is also useful for visitors in that it displays the 20 latest tunes on the playlist that have been played - including links to the official release page and - if applicable and appropriate - to the artist him-/herself. Having one's music played at Leftob is therefore a convenient way to get interested listeners to one's release pages - in other words: very targeted traffic.
